TRUSTEE presented at the SaFE H2D Workshop in Capo d’Orlando

On 6 February 2026, the TRUSTEE project was presented during the final workshop of the PRIN SaFE H2D project, held in Capo d’Orlando (Italy). The event brought together researchers, institutional representatives and industry stakeholders to discuss the role of hydrogen technologies in the energy transition and the development of safe and efficient hydrogen refuelling processes.

The workshop took place in a particularly relevant context: the Marina of Capo d’Orlando, a relevant marina within the Mediterranean yachting sector and strongly connected with the municipality of Capo d’Orlando which is involved in a Hydrogen Valley initiative, which includes the deployment of a hydrogen refuelling station designed to support buses powered by hydrogen through a hybrid architecture combining PEM fuel cells and batteries. This initiative represents an important local demonstration of hydrogen-based mobility solutions and sustainable energy infrastructures.

Within the session dedicated to “Hydrogen: experiences and perspectives”, the TRUSTEE project was presented by Simone Panfiglio (NAVTEC), focusing on the potential of hydrogen as an energy carrier to support the decarbonisation of the maritime sector in the 2030–2050 timeframe. The presentation highlighted ongoing analyses carried out within the project on the role of hydrogen-based solutions in future maritime energy systems.

Overall, the workshop represented a valuable opportunity for the TRUSTEE project to engage with the hydrogen innovation ecosystem, exchange knowledge on emerging technologies and discuss their potential role in supporting the decarbonisation of the maritime sector.
